On Jan 3, 2019,Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co., Ltd [ZTTSC] successfully delivered and passed the “Acceptance Test” for the 500kV HVAC XLPE insulated submarine fiber optic composite cable, the highest voltage category in the world! The cable was developed to enable the Zhejiang project - the Zhejiang Zhoushan 500kV networking transmission & transformation project.
The Zhejiang Zhoushan 500kV networking transmission & transformation project is a trans-region & cross-sea networking project. A project with the largest investment value amidst a very harsh construction environment. The construction of the project will fill the gap of the 500kV grid for the Zhoushan Islands New Area, Zhejiang, providing a powerful electric drive for its development; and greatly promoting the construction of “The Belt and Road” initiative.
In the process of successful implementation and completion of the production of 500kV ultra-high voltage submarine cable, Zhongtian Technology [ZTT] heavily increased its investment in scientific development to conduct the research on ultra-high voltage submarine cable materials and the design manufacturing process as well as testing technologies.
Combining years of experience in the successful development of high-voltage submarine cables, ZTT made multi-faceted technological breakthroughs in the area of concentration and purity of ultra-high voltage material of 500kV cross-linked submarine cable, insulation extrusion process, soft joint development and quality assurances, intermediate grounding technology of lead bushing, waterproof design of maintenance joints and mechanical protection technology, and solving many highly complex technical issues to become the first manufacturer to achieve the insulated 500kV XLPE submarine cable system [including soft joint and maintenance joint] Type Test and Pre-Qualification tests.
ZTT has always been regarded as the pioneer; a highly acclaimed and accredited submarine cable manufacturer in China; the only entity to have received such approval in the New Technological Product category. The award was declared through an official appraisal organized by the China Electricity Council and Industry and Information Technology Committee for achieving a long continuous extrusion production of 18.45 kilometers within a 23 days period.
The successful development event, thus bestowed ZTTwith the title of the first global manufacturer for 500kV HVAC, XLPE with no-joint insulated submarine fiber optic composite cable manufacturer; the longest length record holder in the world.
